Country Heritage Park (CHP) is embarking on an exciting creative arts, heritage, and community engagement vision that begins with the inaugural event, Art-in-the-Park on Sunday, August 21st, 2016, 10am-5pm.
Come out and SEE! Unleash all your senses! Embrace all the creative energy happening on this day within the Park’s natural setting and witness the unique collection of heritage buildings, artifacts, and displays all collected on a pristine 80-acre site. Fresh art, fresh food, fresh air, and local art by Ontario artists!
View the list of juried, selected Artists of 2016 and see examples of the art work on display – take the time to read what inspires these artists to create what they create!
The Arts Development Committee and Country Heritage Park would like to thank the three fine jurors: Jay Richardson, Darrell Keenie and Margaret Lindsay Holton for their outstanding professionalism, expertise, and offering of their own time to conduct the jurying for this first-ever event.
Admission is FREE for this event at Country Heritage Park (CHP) for the Art Show & Sale. Parking is FREE as well, but since CHP is run by a not-for-profit organization, with very few staff and limited resources, it is hoped that you will contribute a donation to ensure that events like this one are able to continue now and into the future. Any contribution is gratefully accepted and you have the thanks of the board, the staff, and the contingent of volunteers who help make CHP what it is today.
Country Heritage Park is like a moving picture show of the past 150 years – and we hope that you enjoy the opportunity to create your own memories.
The Park sits at the crossroads of the urban and rural communities of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) - one of the fastest growing, most concentrated, and ethnically diverse populations in North America with more than 8-million residents within a 90-minute drive to the Park. The Park's natural setting and unique collection of heritage buildings, artifacts, and displays on its 80-acre site (adjacent to Canada's busiest highway) only appeals more to the art community's creative side.
Art-in-the-Park at Country Heritage Park will become an art showcase, arts-education hub, and resource for supporting the exhibition and sale of the artistic works of local and regional artists.
- Artists will be participating on August 21, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Show will occur rain or shine in the park
- There are public washroom facilities available on site
- Food vendors will be available
- This is a FREE event for visitors attending but donations for assisting Country Heritage Park are gratefully accepted
