Country Heritage Park brings "Green Gables" to life in new Anne of Green Gables movie

February 1 , 2016

Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, a revision nearly 20 years in the making since the last series and movies ended, returns to television on February 15 at 6 p.m. on YTV. The movie, much of it shot at Country Heritage Park with the Lucas Farm House subbing in for "Green Gables", stars Martin Sheen, Sara Botsford, and Ella Ballentine as the young red-haired Anne Shirley.

"We were honoured to have much of this movie shot at Country Heritage Park, and particularly enjoyed the knowledge that the rural setting of turn of the century Canada was found just minutes from this nation’s largest concentration of urban living, the GTA," said Jamie Reaume, CEO of CHP. "This is an iconic Canadiana book, shot in the ultimate rural crossroads in Ontario, and we look forward to all who enjoy the movie to come and visit our own "Green Gables" - and so many other interesting aspects of Ontario's farming and food heritage."

The trailer for the movie can be found at the YTV Youtube Channel:

In order to honour the movie, Country Heritage Park is holding an Anne of Green Gable Afternoon on October 16, 2016.
