GIRL GUIDE PROGRAMS
Country Heritage Park is now offering a wide range of programs suitable for Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders. We also offer leader retreat weekend packages. Our beautiful 80 acres site is nestled in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment, and is perfect for full day or overnight outings. Puslinch Hall provides a base camp for overnight programs and is fully equipped with a kitchen, bathrooms and showers.

SPARK BADGES
Our qualified staff can accommodate or partially accommodate the requirements for a number of Spark badges. These include:
Building & Program Badge(s) & Applicable Sections
School - make a book of drawings all about yourself. Being Me - "Who I Am"
Women's Institute - make a friendship bracelet to give to someone. Being Me - "Who I Am"
Site - Nature walk playing "I Spy" and looking at trees etc. Going Outside - Nature Walk
Covered Picnic Areas - play circle and active games before their picnic lunch. Going Outside - Picnic
Plant Centre - make a bird feeder and create an animal or insect using various materials. Going Outside - Additional Activities
School at Nighte - look at the night sky and find the North Star and the Big Dipper. Exploring and Experimenting
Site - looking for flowers, birds, butterflies, etc. Going Camping - Twenty Minute Hike
Back Room - make a stick or paper bag puppet. Make a printing stamp out of a half potato. Lets Make A Craft

  • Full Day Program $12.50 per girl.
  • Overnight to Evening Program & Full Day - $310.00 plus GST for Hall Rental + $16.50 per girl.
  • Overnight without Evening Program & Full Day - $310.00 plus GST for Hall Rental + $14.50 per girl.

GIRL GUIDE BADGES
Our qualified staff can accommodate or partially accommodate the requirements for a number of Girl Guide badges. These include:
Provincial / Territorial Heritage:
Part 6 Create something in the same way early settlers would have (e.g. prepare a meal, take part in making soap or candles, quilting, embroidery, basket weaving, rug braiding, or make an article of clothing).
Part 7 Visit two of the following
  • a historic site
  • a display of the history of mining, farming or fishing
  • a unique natural site
  • an historical government building
  • an early building in your community
Horsepower (Seasonal)
Part 1 Help, water, feed, groom, saddle and ride a quiet saddle horse or pony.
Part 2 Show that you understand the feeding and the care of horses.
Part 3 Keep stables and tack room clean and tidy.
Show that you understand the cleaning of harness/tack.
Part 4 Explain how to recognize when a horse is in poor condition and what to do to improve the condition.
Part 5 Show that you understand the temperament of different horses and how to use tact and common sense in handling them.
Farming
Part 2 Identify two breeds of cattle, pigs, sheep or horses in your area.
Part 3 Identify two kinds of crops grown in your area.
Part 4 Describe how farm products in your area are marketed.
Part 6 Describe three types of farming in Canada.
Part 8 Discover the roles women have played on farms over time.
Are there many women farmers or is the industry still dominated by men?
Why is this the case?
Creative Craft
Part 6 Visit a museum, historical site or library to learn about crafts and toys made during the last 200 years.
Design Your Own Badge
We could help in the guiders designing a Dairy, Poultry or Pioneer Games badge.
Heritage Home Skills
Part 1 Help someone make one of the following: jam, jelly, marmalade, pickles, relish  or preserved vegetables or fruit.
Learn how to sterilize and seal the storage jars.
Know how to tell if the jars were not sealed properly.
How would you know if  the contents had spoiled?
Part 4 Learn how to spin wool into yarn, make soap or candles, or dye fabric using natural dyes.
Part 7 Make a traditional toy that was common 75 or more years ago.
Part 8 Visit a place where antiques, historical crafts, or folk art collections are displayed, such as a museum, antiques store, Pioneer Village or historic landmark. 
PATHFINDER REQUIREMENTS
Our qualified staff can accommodate or partially accommodate the requirements for a number of Pathfinder emblems. These include:
Community Emblem
Heritage Play a traditional game of Early Canada.
Use Pioneer methods to make a food item such as butter, ice cream, maple syrup, or jam or jelly from wild fruit.
Try a Pioneer craft such as spinning, weaving, quilting, candle making, or soap making.
Knowledge & Service Using a map, take part in a scavenger hunt or similar activity designed to increase your knowledge of your community.
Home Emblem
Personal Interests Make an article by needlework, crochet, knitting or similar skill
Outdoor Emblem
Conservation Make a bird feeding station and feed the birds throughout the winter. Keep a record of  the birds that visit this feeder.
Natural Environment A fallen log is full of life. Find out what lives in or on it.
Make and use natural dyes from plants or lichens.
